Arugula – Planted 3/28/09

Today Boo, Jessica and I planted the arugula! Should be up easily within the week and I will return on Saturday or Sunday with camera in hand to view the progress.

Thanks SO much to Boo’s husband Larry for all the hard work he put in to preparing the plot. It looked amazing and was so easy to work with! Many hands make light work, and I can personally attest to that, courtesy Larry, Boo and Jessica.

This is how I am growing our seedlings. I am using 2 four foot flourescent shop lights that each have 2 forty watt bulbs. Each is hung from the shelf above the plants that they are shining on. On the lower shelf I am chitting the potatoes. Chitting is allowing the potatoes to grow a bit before putting them in the ground. Its supposed to be helpful – we’ll see!
